Jay turns 60 and other random things:)

Happy Birthday, dear husband. We had dinner at a local restaurant with Jim and Jane Heichel to celebrate.

Still looking good after all these years:) For any of you who don't know, Jay just got hired as a seasonal sales rep in the Men's Dept. at L.L. Bean's in Freeport. I'll bet my father is smiling!

Jay's nautical artwork in the backyard. He's actually collected all these lobster buoys during our walks on local beaches in the area...they wash up on the shores.

I LOVE my back porch!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like spring.

Jay made the buoy house number marker. If the L. L. Bean gig doesn't work out, he could always go into business with this item:)

Finally got warm enough to paint the cedar shakes on the bottom of the porch posts to match the siding. Jay did a great job and it makes the house look so much more finished. Now if the grass would just grow. Oh, well, at least we don't have to spend time mowing yet.

Jay and Linda Bailey's Island, Maine

Jay and I took a drive down to Lands End on Bailey Island this afternoon. It was such a sunny, pretty day that we thought some time at the ocean was required:) This particular spot is about 18-20 miles from our house. There's also a gift shop, which had just opened for the season, right by the beach. Always fun to walk through. The audio is a little muffled because of the wind, and I am my usually lovely self with that same wind blowing my always frizzy locks to bits. Other than that, Jay and the scenery look great!

Happy Easter

The only thing that would have made this picture more perfect is if Zach and Laurie had been with us. Otherwise, it was a beautiful Easter. Everyone said I would be disappointed in Maine's spring, but it was 75 degrees today and we saw forsythia and daffodils blooming on the way to church. God is good:)

I babysat Cate yesterday and we decided to color Easter eggs.

Of course Easter eggs must be colored while wearing your princess skirt (so that you're prepared for dancing afterwards).

Loved all those colors.

Yellow is always a favorite.

Then it was time to model the hat and purse Great Grandma Sprague had sent. I believe the white shiny Easter shoes are also showing.

Turkeys at the bird feeder!

I was startled to look out our living room window the other day and see a wild turkey eating beneath the bird feeder!

He put on quite a show.

Guess word got out that lunch was being served at the Pappases because before I knew it, he was back with a friend:)

Oh, life in Maine!

March trip to "camp"

A couple of weeks ago on a warm, sunny day we decided to go check out the cottage. Although the snow around our house was gone, not so in the north country:)

We'd never seen it frozen before. It has its own beauty, but I prefer a warm summer day:)

A visit to Great Grandma Sprague in Ohio

First, a recent pic of Cate to show what a big girl she's getting to be. That's a little pigtail off to the side. She's very into "piggies' but still doesn't have much to put into one:) And what hair she does have, is curly and out of control.

We surprised my mom last week with a trip to Ohio. She hadn't seen Lindsay and Cate since last July. Do I need to say how thrilled she was?:) My friend Donna took these pics and I snagged them off her blog. Thanks Donna for documenting the special moment.
