A visit to Great Grandma Sprague in Ohio

First, a recent pic of Cate to show what a big girl she's getting to be. That's a little pigtail off to the side. She's very into "piggies' but still doesn't have much to put into one:) And what hair she does have, is curly and out of control.
Cate and Great Grandma Sprague.

Four generations.

Gramma and Cate.

We surprised my mom last week with a trip to Ohio. She hadn't seen Lindsay and Cate since last July. Do I need to say how thrilled she was?:) My friend Donna took these pics and I snagged them off her blog. Thanks Donna for documenting the special moment.

Part 1: Outside of New House... Done!

We're finally moved in and pretty well unpacked. It's starting to feel like home and we wanted to share it with all of you. So here's a little tour. The cedar shakes on the base of the porch posts will be painted to match the siding when the weather warms up. Also, landscaping will be completed this spring. Here is the view from our front porch:
Yes, those are rocks under the snow that you're seeing. Now you know why we had to blast to put in a foundation.

Going around the house to the right (counterclockwise). We had walkout doors installed to the basement. We heat with propane so those are the tanks.

Our bedroom windows (the triple) the kitchen window, the back porch.

Other side of back porch, windows in living room (the triple) and window to right of fireplace.

Left side of house.

And we're back to the front:)

Part 2: Finally Moved into New House:)

Inside the front door. No pictures hung yet but otherwise fairly well settled.
Looking down the hall (screened porch in distance) from inside the front door.

The kitchen is to the right at the end of that hall.

Table in the middle and porch to the back.

Another perspective:)

Getting the idea?

The man of the house is loving every minute!

And I got the bookshelves I've always wanted:)

We love the gas fireplace.

Moving toward the front of the house again. There's a second bath off to the left for guests.

Below is the guest room. Hint! Hint!

And the computer/Cate's room follows:)

This bed was my mom's, and is the perfect size for Cate when she starts overnight visits:)

Finally our bedroom faces the back of the house (opposite end from the living room back of the kitchen). Love our view.

Finally a bathroom to ourselves (left door) and a walk-in closet (right door). A house with two full baths is like I died and went to heaven:)

And just so you don't think life in Maine is all play and no work....the laundry:)

NOW...Come and visit us!!!
