Waiting to be baptized

Cate: I got to wear the dress my Great Grandma made for my mommy and Aunt Laurie to wear when they were baptized. I also had a pretty lacy bonnet (made from a handkerchief) that my mommy wore when she was baptized and later carried in her bridal bouquet. We like traditions in our family.
Cate: Actually the sermon was pretty interesting. I really liked all the music.
Cate: Eventually it all just wore me out, and I slept peacefully until it was time to be baptized. Then Mommy and Daddy woke me up and took me up to the front of the church. I just looked up at Pastor Mitchell and didn't even fuss when he put the water on me.
Cate's baptism took place towards the end of the service so we were a little nervous about her behavior. Of course we worried for nothing. I think God takes care of those things.

Cate's baptism

Cate was baptized on Memorial Day Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church by the same pastor who married her mommy and daddy and baptized her Aunt Laurie. As a matter of fact, Cate is the 6th generation of our family to be a member of Trinity going all the way back to the 1890's and her Great Great Great Grandma Lersch. Wow! What a wonderful heritage.

Lots of people came to share this special day. Both sets of grandparents, her Aunt Laurie and Uncle Zach from Raleigh, and Uncle Zach's parents who came all the way from Bowling Green. Her Aunt Chrissy and Uncle Nate from PA. Her Great Grandma, her Great Aunt Diane and Great Uncle Jim, and cousins Jamie, Jarrod, Chelsea, and Jeremy. Everyone then had a fun time at a picnic afterwards.

Dancing with Grandpa

I'm Grandpa's dancing girl.
I love my grandpa!

Cate's stay in Ohio

I love sitting up so I can look around. No lying around for me.
Having my morning chat with Grandpa and Blue Butterfly over breakfast.
Auntie Laurie and I are having a pajama party:)
I just discovered my toes.
Yum! Yum!

Cate's first trip to Ohio

Cate made her first trip to Ohio to Gramma and Grandpa's house. She was a little angel on that long, long car ride. Such a good little traveler. She also met some very special people for the first time. Here she is with her Great Grandma Sprague.
And her Great Aunt Diane.
And her Uncle Zach. She always greeted him with a big smile.

Sleepy Girl - 16 weeks

We were talking to Cate on the web cam...guess Gramma Linda and Grandpa can be kind of boring:)
Such a sleepy girl.
Fast asleep in her basket with blankie and pacifier while Mommy gets showered. No...she can't fall.
Cate loves her daddy:)

May 4, 2008

Great Aunt Kathy and Uncle Larry came all the way from California for a short visit with Cate before heading to Boston for business.
Cate likes her Curious George. Daddy Rick had one growing up, and now she has one too.
Cate loves her doll that looks just like her fireman daddy and her dog Zoe:) Thank you, Mrs. Fraas.
