Fun in Camden Oct 25

Camden Harbor, Maine. That's headed out toward open ocean behind me.

Decided to take a break from house decisions today and spend a beautiful fall afternoon in Camden, Maine, about one hour up the coast.

Boats get shrink wrapped for the winter. This harbor is one of the most picturesque in Maine. How lucky we are to live close by.

Windows!!! Yeh!!!- Oct 19

We were so excited to get to the house today and see windows.
Back view: the sliding door to the porch isn't in yet but to the right are the triple windows at the end of the living room. I love looking out into the beautiful woods and the windows are low enough that we'll be able to look out while sitting:)
Another view of the back with the start of the screened porch in the center. The smaller window will be over the kitchen sink and the triple windows to the far left (mirror the living room to the right) are in the master bedroom.
Close up of front windows: guest bedroom to the left (come visit us!) and office to the right.

Random pics of the progress on the house

The shower for the master bath is in. Second bath has a shower/tub but since I'm not really a tub person, we went with just an oversize shower in our bathroom.

The beginnings of our screened in back porch. It's going to have a great view of the woods.

OK...those strips of wood up in the ceiling area are called strapping. They will hold the dry wall for the ceiling. Amazing what I'm learning about housebuilding:)

Stairs down to the basement.

More strapping on the front porch.

Finally a roof over our heads!

I told you the rocks in Maine were big:)
Front view with the new roof
Side view of the roof. Windows are on either side of fireplace in living room.
Another front view.
It's so nice to finally see the roof go on.

Random recent pics of life in Maine

Were up at camp and took this picture of the lake in its fall color. Such a pretty day.

This was taken at Five Islands, about 12 miles from our new house, right on the ocean. They serve yummy seafood here.

Cate picks a pumpkin

A week ago we went to pick pumpkins with Cate, Lindsay, and Rick. Cate thought the chickens at the pumpkin farm were pretty cute. She liked feeding them until one pecked her finger...ouch!
What about this one, Mommy?

Sitting on a pumpkin can be fun:)
Papou will help check out the pumkins.
